Three fully marked P-40N-1 skins (plus three unmarked generics) of the 80th Fighter Group (one for each squadron) to be used on the stock P-40M.

Place these skins in: \IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\PaintSchemes\Skins\P-40M

The P-40N-1 was the fastest of the production type P-40s and was essentially a low weight version. It retained the earlier style of canopy and fuselage behind
the cockpit (the glass-house style canopy was introduced on the N-5) and although all N-1s were produced with four .50cal heavy machine guns, almost all were
converted to have six guns at unit level. Hence the N-1 was often very difficult to distinguish from the M.

Note that the 80th FG squadrons were indentified by their spinners colours: white for the 88th, red for the 89th and blue for the 90th.

White 15 'Dikam Death', seriel number unknown, Lt. Robert Gale, 88th Fighter Squadron. 'Dikam Death' was the nick-name of an alcohol produced by a distillery in the
Assam Valley in which the Group was based. The nose art and wheel art on the skin are based on photos however the rest (the tail number, kill markings etc) are purely
guess work on my part although the number '15' is based on the opinion of the operator of p40warhawk.com who has been in contact with Bob Gale. The two kill markings
are for the two Ki-43 Oscars Gale downed on the 9th of July 1944.

White 44 'Lulu Belle', 42-104590, 2Lt.Phillip Adair, 89th Fighter Squadron. The first of two aircraft called 'Lulu Belle' flown by Adair, this the one he used on the 13th of
December 1943 to down one Ki-43 and damage two others plus a Ki-21 Sally bomber when he single handedly engaged twenty four Ki-21s and thirty five Ki-43s, for
which he was awarded the Silver Star. Note that this aircraft had white-walled tyres (including on the tail) which were also treadless, and that the artwork on the main
wheels is of a bomb carrying buzzard.

White 71 'Ruth Marie', seriel number unknown, Flt. Off. Samuel E. 'Gene' Hammer, 90th Fighter Squadron. The skin shows two kill markings for the pair of Ki-21s Hammer
downed on the 27th of March 1944. Later, on the 14th of December 1944, Hammer would down three Ki-44s to make him the Group's only single engined aircraft ace (by
that time the Group had converted from the P-40 to the P-47), as the 459th FS (using P-38s and under the administrative control of the 80th FG) produced six aces.

Template and skins by myself, HBPencil. It is a reworked version of a P-40N (mod) template I made some time ago so although the vast majority of the work is mine
there are some elements from the P-40M void file, namely small bits of the mech/internals as my own attempts to improve on them had negligible results.
